The Duck & Bunny in Providence, RI call themselves a Snuggery, “a cozy and comfortable place”. It indeed is a very small and snug space, decked out with small tables and some bar seating. A group of friends and I had decided to check out their afternoon tea. Good thing we made reservations because there was too little seating and too many parties waiting.

Decor was adorable as expected. I tried a fruity apricot tea which complemented the sandwiches well. The standard cucumber cream cheese, smoked salmon, cranberry chicken salad, and an apple chicken salad all came on soft wheat bread.

While the sandwiches were decent, these scones were the best scones I’ve had in quite some time. They were SO crumbly, and the thick devonshire cream with raspberry and strawberry jams made them even more amazing. I wish I had one of these scones right now…

Lastly, we had a dessert tray with mini cupcakes and shortbread cookies. The shortbread was very crumbly and buttery. I tried the chocolate mocha cupcake, and a red velvet cupcake. Both flavors were a bit dry and nothing special to me. My friend did mention the carrot cake one was very good.

My Picks: Scones all the way! If you can order them separate, I highly advise it. They serve brunch and other lunch items as well so they may be worth a try (with a side of scones of course).
