This post is long overdue… we went to Island Creek Oyster Bar in the summertime and I’m only getting to it now! It’s October, yikes. First things first is obviously the oysters! Can’t go to an oyster bar and not get me some.

We asked the waitress for suggestions since there were so many options. She suggested the island creek, east beach blond and dodge cove varieties. My absolute favorite were the east beach blonde. They were the tastiest oysters I’ve ever had because they were full of this salty briny sea flavor that I love.The other two varieties were creamy and still flavorful, but definitely more mellow tasting.

Next we got the famous buttermilk biscuit which comes covered in honey. It was certainly comfort food and huge enough to share. Good thing we were hungry that day.

We tried the crispy oyster sliders which were a yummy little bite. The oysters used for these were the island creek variety.

The lobster roe noodles was delicious, though I wished it contained more noodles (and I forgot to ask for no peas! I hate peas.) It was light and not overly creamy and heavy.

The seafood casserole was a classic. There was a gigantic piece of lobster in there as well!

Island Creek Oyster Bar did not disappoint and I would highly recommend for the next time you’re in the mood for seafood!
